Hi this is Dr. Mark Stengler from the Stengler Center for Integrative Medicine in Encinitas, California.
And I want talk to you about a newer topic today and it’s called oxidized LDL.
How many of you out there have had your doctor measure your oxidized LDL blood levels?
This is very important because research has shown that when you had this damaged form of LDL cholesterol called oxidized LDL you’re much more likely to get inflammation in your arteries which can result in plaque formation.
And we want to prevent that.
When LDL cholesterol becomes damaged because of your diet, you’re not getting enough antioxidants.
Maybe you need extra nutritional supplements. Maybe you have toxins in the body like heavy metals which are causing the oxidative damage of your LDL cholesterol.
You need to know if this is a problem and blood work can test this and identify it.
If it is, then holistic doctors like myself, we can address your diet or toxins you’re exposed to, or maybe a nutrient state your low in and we can normalize that oxidized LDL cholesterol.
Thank you for watching.
