IV Nutrient and Ozone Therapy in San Diego
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy (IV Nutrient Therapy) is a method of using modern science combined with natural healing agents to assist the body in the prevention and treatment of illness. Nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and other healing substances are infused directly into the bloodstream. Since the digestive system is by-passed, one can achieve significantly higher levels of nutrients into the bloodstream and ultimately to the cells of the body where they are utilized most effectively.
Medical Ozone Therapy: We also offer ozone infusions, also known as autohemotherapy. This involves a process where blood is drawn from the patient and stored in a sterile medical IV infusion container. Then medical grade ozone (composed of 3 oxygen atoms) is infused into the stored blood. The oxygen rich blood is then infused back into the patient’s vein where it travels throughout the body. The benefits include improved oxygenation of cells, improved energy production, stimulation of the body’s own antioxidant systems, stimulation of stem cells, improved immunity, and improved circulation.
High Dose Intravenous Vitamin C: Intravenous vitamin C is used at high doses to help patients suffering from infections or as part of adjunctive immune support for those with cancer. Dosages may range from 25 to 100 grams per treatment. Your immune system naturally produces some hydrogen peroxide in response to infections and cancer. High doses of IVC kick this natural process into high gear. Hydrogen peroxide acts as an oxidant, helping to destroy cancer and other foreign invaders. IVC augments what your immune system is already doing, making the process much more effective.
Normal healthy cells are able to neutralize the effects of hydrogen peroxide with an enzyme known as catalase. Since cancer cells lack this enzyme it leads to cell death. A study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science of the United States of America showed that IVC selectively kills cancer cells by delivering hydrogen peroxide to tissues.

Chelation Therapy: New study shows this “controversial” therapy sends heart attack and stroke risk plummeting. For decades conventional medicine has treated holistic doctors who prescribe chelation therapy to treat patients with cardiovascular disease like we were kooks. Mainstream medicine docs routinely dismiss our use of chelation to treat atherosclerosis, the buildup of plaque in the arteries that contributes to heart attacks, strokes, angina (chest pain), and high blood pressure. Our methods have been ridiculed and we are treated like pariah by many of our peers.
Well, it looks like the time has finally come for those naysayers to strap on their bibs and dine on some crow. A $30 million dollar, 7-year long study that was funded by the National Institutes of Health…known as the Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT)…has found that chelation therapy reduced the risk of heart attacks, deaths, strokes and other cardiovascular problems by 18 percent (and over 39 percent for diabetics) in those with a history of heart attacks. Dr. Stengler, Dr. LaBeau and Dr. Williamson have had additional training in IV therapy and their office treats patients in and around San Diego.
Meet Peggy DeSanto RN
Born and raised in Minnesota, Peggy came to San Diego in January 2017 on a vacation to escape the cold Minnesota winter…and never left. She felt guided to move to California and believes that joining the team at the Stengler Center for Integrative Medicine was part of that calling.
Peggy graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin in 1987 with the Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She has worked in the hospital setting for over 30 years, gaining valuable experience in the intensive care unit, emergency room and chemotherapy settings. She also served in managerial rolesas a nursing supervisor and as a nursing educator.
While acknowledging the virtues of Western medicine, her heart has always been more aligned with healing that soughtto understand the true origins of disease and that empowered people to have an active role in their healing process. Because of her passion to understand the nature of disease and how to facilitate healing, she has traveled around the world and has studied various other culture’s approaches toward healing. She has also trained in various modalities of energy based medicine that can help people understand their spiritual, mental and emotional blocks and patterns that can contribute toward illness.
She feels honored and blessed to be involved in the care of the patients at the Stengler Center, and to be part of such a heart-centered and compassionate healing team. Nurse Peggy works under the direction of Dr. Mark LaBeau.
Depending on a patient’s state of health, lab testing, and specific condition(s) Dr. Stengler tailors a treatment specifically for each individual throughout the San Diego area. Examples include B vitamins and magnesium for fatigue, vitamin C, zinc, glutathione, and selenium for immune system enhancement and detoxification.
Amino acids or fatty acid replacement are helpful for those with weight loss such as found in Crohn’s disease or cancer.
Patients with heavy metal toxicity may be given EDTA, DMPS, glutathione, and other detoxification agents. Those with neurological conditions may benefit from glutathione, lipoic acid, phosphatidylcholine, and other unique nutrients. IV’s may be given to those with chronic infections or fatigue.
LENGTH OF TREATMENT
Treatment time can vary. Time can vary from 30 minutes to two hours. Patients sit or recline back in a lounge style chair during their medically supervised treatment in San Diego.
Our doctors order blood tests before initiating IV therapy to make sure organs of detoxification such as the liver and kidneys are functioning properly. Repeat testing is often done intermittently during a series of treatments.
Intravenous Nutrient Therapy is usually performed without incident. Patients’ vital signs are tested before and after therapy. Initial treatment usually involves a lower dose to confirm the patient tolerates the therapy with dosages increased over subsequent treatments. Allergic reactions or other side effects are uncommon but possible.
